The “Why” Behind Ecologic Entomology

Many companies lack an apparent “why.” But at Ecologic Entomology, our purpose is deeply personal. It all began when our Founder and principal, Jonathan Boyar, was just six years old. Jonathan’s life was forever changed after accidentally ingesting insecticide carelessly stored in a soda bottle. This early brush with the dangers of pesticides ignited a passion for safer, more responsible pest management.

By the age of fifteen, Jonathan was advocating for change before the Taunton City Council, arguing against the use of harmful pesticides that threatened not just pests but beneficial species like honeybees. His plea succeeded, leading to the adoption of a safer, natural biocide. These formative experiences planted the seeds for what would become Ecologic Entomology, a company built on the principles of ecological balance and intelligent, ethical pest control.

Jonathan, along with lifelong friend and business partner, Ken Spencer, company President, have turned that vision into a reality. Today, Ecologic Entomology operates with the same dedication to responsible pest management that guided Jonathan’s early life. This is our “why”—the driving force behind everything we do.
