Clover Mite
About Clover Mites
Clover mites (Bryobia praetiosa) are tiny, reddish mites, smaller than a pinhead. They live outdoors on grasses and plants but often crawl indoors through cracks in siding and foundations.
Risks & Concerns
Though harmless to humans, they can be a nuisance when they gather in large numbers. Crushing them leaves red stains on walls, windowsills, and fabrics.
Prevention & Control
Seal cracks in foundations and windowsills, and keep vegetation trimmed away from buildings. Vacuum infestations rather than crushing them.
