Ecologic Entomology provides free insect identification services for residents of Massachusetts. There are three ways to submit your specimen(s) for identification.

By mail:

Please mail only expired specimens in double zip-locked bags. Be sure to include your contact info and the specific place and environment where the specimen was found.

Digital picture submissions (preferred):

Email close-up pictures to: info@ecologicentomology.com. Please avoid using digital zooms and try to submit only in-focus pictures.

Drop off at our office:

You may bring expired specimens in an air-tight container to our training facility located at:

953 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA

Please contact us prior to coming to our office to be sure we have staff onsite to identify your specimen(s).

This is a free service. Specimens will be destroyed after identification.
